The Space Between the Notes
You know that saying: “The space between the notes creates the music”? It’s true. Without the pauses, music would just be noise, and honestly, life works the same way.
We live in a world that glorifies constant motion. Scroll. Respond. Hustle. Repeat. But here’s the secret: the magic is in the pauses. It’s in those quiet little pockets where your nervous system resets, your intuition sneaks in, and the seeds of your dreams actually have room to grow.
Pausing Isn’t Lazy (It’s Genius)
Your brain actually needs downtime. Neuroscientists call it the “default mode network”, basically the part of your brain that kicks in when you rest, daydream, or let your mind wander. That’s where your best ideas, your “aha!” moments, and your creative genius live. Ever wonder why ideas come to you in the shower?
Your nervous system? It’s the same story. Action + rest = balance. Skip the rest, and suddenly you’re in stress mode, your thoughts are scattered, and your intuition is…well, ghosting you. Pausing isn’t slacking, it’s giving your body and mind a much-needed break: It’s safe. You’re safe. You can create from here.

Yoga’s Little Secret: Savasana
If you’ve ever done yoga, you know it ends with savasana, the blissful 2–5 minutes of stillness where you lie on the mat and just…exist. And that’s the point. Savasana isn’t optional. It’s when your body, mind, and spirit integrate everything you just did. Your entire class prepared you for that moment.
Think about it: in a 60-minute class, at least 2-5 minutes are pure rest. That’s the bare minimum. Feeling stressed or depleted? Your body might be begging for more. Life is basically one big yoga class, without those pauses, everything else can feel chaotic.
Manifestation Loves the Pause
Here’s the fun part: manifestation doesn’t come from force or hustle. It shows up in softness, in spaciousness. When you pause, whether it’s in savasana, on a phone-free walk, or during a deep breath, you’re literally telling the universe: I trust. I’m ready. I’m open. I do not need to control.
Neville Goddard, one of the OGs of manifestation, knew this. His practices often start in stillness, slipping into a calm state so your subconscious is ready to create. No pause, no planting. Simple as that.
Tiny Ways to Practice the Pause
Pausing doesn’t have to mean disappearing to a mountaintop (though, honestly, I wouldn’t say no). Here are a few ways to bring it into everyday life:
✨ Micro-Pause Ritual: Close your eyes for one slow inhale, exhale fully, and whisper to yourself: This space is where my next reality grows. Repeat this for 2-5 minutes.
✨ Phone-Free Walk: Five minutes outside. No music, no scrolling. Just your steps and your breath.
✨ Savasana Off the Mat: Use the yoga ratio: for every hour of doing, give yourself at least 5 minutes of being. Stressed? Give yourself even more time. There's an old saying, if you don't have 5 minutes to meditate, you should meditate for 30.
Make the Space Sacred
Pauses aren’t interruptions, they’re part of the song. The commas, the rests, the breaths that make the music beautiful.
Next time you feel pulled in a million directions, give yourself permission to pause. Lie down in stillness, take a deep breath, or step outside and walk in nature.
Taking time to pause helps your nervous system reset, so your day, your goals, and your energy can all align. Even a few minutes of stillness lets your body and mind integrate everything, making space for wellness and new possibilities.
